This looks wacky to me, I don't think it's a '62 and is either a Brazilian Bus or heavily modified:

The single cab version of those gates were discussed here... https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=545018&highlight=brazilian+single+cab
Someone suggested they were Brazilian bay gates...
I'm not impressed with their underseal application skills. Looks like they failed to get it up behind the gear shift tube...

For $50, a new skin is $250 + shipping, so it might be worth while to buy and re-skin...then again, I’ve never paid $300+ for a front door, $150 one time for my ‘59. Some people ask a hefty [read: ridiculous] price for doors nowadays, so with a lot of work, someone could save money and learn patience in the process. _________________ ,,Wenige Menschen denken, und doch wollen alle entscheiden.'' -der Alte Fritz

It's traffic purely out of morbid curiosity- not a sales lead. Traffic on your ad is not the same as views on your youtube video of you pulling that out of a metal recycler's crusher. It will never be on a bus, a bus bar or barn art bus parts exhibit. It's just total junk sir. Please pull through. _________________

Spoken like someone who lives in a rust free area, around here that's a donor for it's clean lower extremities at the very least, I'd rather hammer out bent German metal than deal with rust, sadly shipping would make it not worth the time in most cases. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I was confused to see this? We all have seen people restore less valuable stuff in worse shape, no?

No. It's bent in some critical areas behind the skin in the door structure, and trying to bend those back would be largely a labor of love. I have 4 or 5 doors that I could probably make into 3/4 of one, with some bent in the same areas. I'd never consider selling them, because I couldn't see asking more than a few bucks. I'd buy this for the back part near the lock, but I'm not willing to part with $50. $10 maybe. And from a local swap meet. _________________ 1973 Standard Beetle - running maintenance thread - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=675712&highlight=

Just for fun- price out shipping that door for meat removal. That hulk is a panel clip donor- and I pay up .50 each for good ones. It's a $1 door- all marrow, no meat. _________________
