Just for fun- price out shipping that door for meat removal. That hulk is a panel clip donor- and I pay up .50 each for good ones. It's a $1 door- all marrow, no meat. |
I've shipped plenty of cab doors. Shipping to the West coast about $40 to $50, east coast about 60 or 70. FedEx. |

Some people must be spoiled. $50 for a split door in todays money is NOTHING. somebody will make good use of a date matching donor door. I am glad that certain people are keeping their parts and offering them to others in need, for a fair and reasonable price.
What would you get for $50 in poor quality reproduction parts today ? _________________ Hotrods, Fords, Veedubs and Triumph Twins !

64-67 rear hatches are date stamped too. Look around the latch, bottom center.
On my 8/64 (1965 model) bus, the front doors are both stamped 4/64 and the rear hatch is 2/64. _________________ Brandon |

Nearly everything is date stamped somewhere, from engine tins to roof skins, a few months earlier than the vehicle production date is common, a date later is cause for concern. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Glad the seller clarified it's a "restoration project." What other sort of project would it be? That's a lot of coin for 3 pictures of (basically) the same view. |
Totally not the same view ... you missed that the safari windows have either been installed... or removed.
I wonder which. _________________ aka: Evan

True. Probably removed, otherwise the price would be $30k. It's also amusing that of all the items to note, the drum brakes need to be rebuilt. No sh!t. _________________ 1973 Standard Beetle - running maintenance thread - https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=675712&highlight=

Nice original paint but now its had a huge hole cut in it for the dormy top, wrong kit, and isn't completed.
And not a condition "2" in my opinion _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I think a Chad felt it left Germany with an So-33 kit because it didn’t have the holes in the body one would expect to install an So-42 kit. I forget how the M-code plate looked. |

sorry if this is a repost
https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25453/lot/375/
This rare VW Type 2 ambulance is one of nine built for the UK market. We are advised by the private vendor that it is totally original, even retaining its original paintwork, seating, stretchers, engine (still on standard bores) and gearbox. All numbers match and the vehicle comes with a factory certificate and a V5C document. Restored in the last four years and said to be driving very well, this rare Volkswagen ambulance would be perfect for a wide variety of historic motoring and other events. _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?
