I like the electric fuel pump running off a gas can and the battery to alternator wiring.
I'm pretty sure that's how they got it to run so I'm assuming there are some wiring and gas tank issues to address here.
Still has the governor in place and the air cleaner elbow, that's funny to me.

My guess is the governor is there to space the carb up over the alternator. It looks like that is a non governor manifold judging by the governor in relation to the alt pulley. It's been too long since I had a governor on a bus, but I think I remember they don't clear an alternator.
Beyond that, that truck looks like a turd sandwich. The only real redeeming quality I see is that it has the rear seat. I bet there is a lot of bondo hiding under that white. _________________ Matt Johnson

But it comes with large logo hubcaps! Just not enough clips on the wheels to hold them on. Lol |

Does "Stored in garage for the last 10 years" mean parked out of the elements when not being driven? Or does it mean it hasn't been on the road in 10 years? Because those are two totally different things relating to how much work is needed on that thing to drive it. |

I think that is a bay westy unit that locks from the inside. The knob allows you to lock it when it is unlocked by the key. You can reach through the hole and actuate the mechanism to open it regardless of whether it is locked by the key. Not sure though.
The parts list for split buses and early bay campers shows a sliding lock that is separate from the rear latch mechanism. _________________ .

Yes, optional on early bay Westfalia, mostly European versions. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Looks like the low budget version of Kenny Prather's 140 mph bus. He used a blown SBC and a much more unobtrusive scoop for the radiator though. |
