Hey dale,
I can check a map, but I go into IZU prefecture a lot in the summer and Shimoda area, anywhere near you? Any other VW guys around there? You go to any of the meets? |

Sorry for the late reply. Yep Mishima is at the neck of the Izu peninsula. Are you in the service at Gotenba? Not much of a bus scene here although there is a bit of a following in Yokohama. They often meet though its a bit far off for me. Look at a few of the local VW magazines or check with a shop. They'd know best when something is on. I always seem to find out too late. Catch ya round. _________________ 58Euro 23 343208 The Ultimate Zimblewinder Machine.

Hey,
I'm a gaijin in Japan too. I haven't logged in here for a while.
I live in Toyama-ken (opposite side, near nagano, ishikawa, niigata...), been here for 4 years, been driving my Beetle for 2 (but I'm a Thing chick at heart, that's what I have at home in Canada-land).
I recently did a road trip to Wakkanai, Hokkaido, with three road bikes strapped to the roof rack. Three blond girls in a red Beetle in Northern Japan...
We have a show coming up in Toyama on Sept 10: Volkswagen Meeting 2006- sponsored by Bug Works.
I was in Kawagoe, Saitama-ken in June for a swap meet and have been to a couple other events, but I want MORE!!!
p.m. me if you'd like my contact info, it's always great to meet new people over here. _________________ It's a girl Thing |

Hi all. Been living in Japan a while (over 10-years), but just got (back) into the ACVW scene. Bought a '75 1200LS Beetle a few months back (Red one like thingchick's). Still adjusting to the differences between LHD and RHD.
Anyone know a good junkyard for classic VW parts in Japan?

I went to Japan for a month while I was in the Army (25th ID - 2nd Brgd. - Hawaii). Can't remember the name of the base we stayed at but there was a really cool Beetle that looked just like your friend Kazz's! There was a very nice view of Mt. Fuji. That and the cool Beetle is about all I can remember from that time. Oh and also the Sake shots... ewww! _________________ Pit Bull Myths, Busted!

Sorry to drag up an old post, but if anyone can translate something for me from Japanese to English, please send me a PM. It's very short, and yes, it is VW related. It's still in kanji? form, so I can't just type it into an online translator. Thanks, _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!
