Hi all I'm going to Japan next month. Are there any VW groups in Japan here?

Can't speak towards the groups here in Japan, but you can stop by the Flat4 shop in Meguro ward, Tokyo.
Here's their English site:
http://www.flat4.co.jp/english.html

And here's some shots of their store:

If you are a Bug lover you need to see the cars and memorabilia on display. It's not cheap there, but its worth seeing.

Just outside of Nagasaki there is "Shirley Momma's VW", also in Sasebo there is Cals Rod service. Have not been to either one in a long time but Im pretty sure they are still there.

Thanks!

By the way, which is generally cheaper? I order in the US plus shipping, handling and tax? or I order at flat4?

Thanks in advance!

If you can order your parts thru a US Military APO box, it is definitely cheaper to order. Flat4 has a great collection of parts, but most are at least 2x-4x more expensive than from the US.

It is strange that even taking Yen-Dollar exchange rates, many Flat4 parts are cheaper in the states than buying them from the Flat4 store.
I was looking at 911-style Fuch replica rims... they are around $50USD cheaper from CIP1 than from Flat4 (that includes shipping too).

They do have a LOT of collectibles that I've never seen any where else. Their A/C units for Bugs/Ghias/Buses are also something unique that is different than anything else I've seen (I know other companies sell A/C units... these are different)

I've been traveling to Japan (Gunma-ken) at least once a year for the last 15 years and rarely see any VWs. It'd be nice to attend a VW show out there sometime.
