what would be good is to weld in stock bug smoothie centers inside a 5.5 wide chromie outer rim, blast the chrome and paint them white so your rears would be 5.5 and offset just enough to run a more meaty tire back there.

Stockton wheel can do that no problem any width / offset you want.
Guaranteed to run true / straight.

I have a set of 15x6's on the back of my Vendo from them running 195/65's.

Stockton wheel doesn't seem to keep their customers too happy, at least not on the HAMB.

Theres also Weldcraft wheels which seems to get pretty good reviews.

Never hada problem with them.
Maybe because I'm close enough to stop by in person instead of email / shipping.

Where is Weld Craft located?
I've never heard of them.

If Stockton Wheel gives you any grief, (as mentioned before, they tend to piss people off) you should check out Kelley's Custom Wheel, which also in Stockton, CA. Kelley does aluminum wheels too. In fact, Stockton Wheel takes all their customers' aluminum wheels to Kelley to get modified because they only do steel wheels in their facility.

He's a really cool guy, and he does excellent work, cheap.

I've had these wheel for years. I *think* they were $100 for the pair, but I'm probably wrong. They were done with a bunch of other wheels at the time.

They just did a second set of SA Sprints for me (changed the sizes on all 4 wheels, chromed and detail painted them) for roughly $150 per wheel.

Kelly's is good too, and there is a guy I haven't used yet, but will in Visalia. He does polishing / chroming in house.

Thanks for all the info. But running the smoothies is cheap. So I'll stick with what I got unless I find a killer deal. Besides the stocks are just till I install the earlies.

Well an update. The temporary 40 horse is in and running. My buddy has a bodyshop here in houston called "Eric's Custom Finishes". One night after working on the car I mentioned that I would like to primer the car one color. So that it would look decent while I enjoy it and work the bugs out. Well one thing led to another and we winded up going a little farther. We painted it white. Its far from perfect but looks really decent. Now the interior looks like ass Very Happy Eric will do the big paint job, once I am ready, and buy the rotisserie..

Paint is the way to go, primer will not seal the car while you play with it and it could show some flaws that were missed later on down the road.

Keep up the work bucket.
