The reservoir will? Do they make a sideways reservoir?
I'll try bleeding the MC first....then we'll go from there.

That didn't work...
And I have bigger problems. Any indication when the tach is going crazy, the engine is sputtering to stay running, then dies...won't restart, but give it a minute or two and it starts back up, like nothing happened? _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

You say the tach is going crazy when this is happening yes?
If so, sounds very ignition-ish..... specially since the tach shouldn't run off fuel.... mine doesn't anyway.
... electronic ignition mod? connections at coil? coil itself failing? plug wires tight? dizzy cap tight, and in good shape? clean fuel filter?
any nausea, vomiting or shortness of breath? Do you have any new desire to listen to Neal Dimond, or WHAM perhaps? _________________ Shameless buildthread plug:

After reading a couple posts, I'm leaning twd a pts/timing issue....
Hopefully it's not the coil. Just bought a Bosch blue a mth ago.
I bit of shortness of nausea...I am getting sick of all this little stuff.
My buddy and his wife had a baby boy yesterday, so we spent the evening at the hospital. Lookin like some work to do tomorrow evening. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

After some painful troubleshooting, I found that the points were arcing and grounding out the spark! Also found that my baja likes to sit around 20*...instead of the recommended 0* timing with a light.
Next...to find a dellorto tuning guide.
I have a pic that I will post tomorrow of the arcing points.
Now back to replacing the master cylinder. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

It's a grainy cell shot. I was really lucky to catch this in action...I left the key on and thought I would doublecheck the status of the cap and rotor.

Didn't get the brakes "finished" til about 10:30...thought it would be too late to call.
No test drive yet either. At that point I had a couple beers and was a bit frustrated....had a couple setbacks during the procedure.
Did pick up a solid mount trans kit. Don't think I'll have it on by next weekend, though.... My 3/8" bit took a crap on me the other day. I have 1/2 of my front bumper mounted. I picked up a Bugpack breather box...just going to vent the oil filler for now, but it will be there for future use.
Only had time for a few hours on the baja today.
Still not sure on the adjustment for that brake rod....my book only says to not adjust it...to adjust the brake stop bracket. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

After I talked to you, I didn't run a relay for the hood lamps. They're actually pretty bright and should come in handy next week!
Glove box in. Still needs some cosmetics and the door.
Breather box mounted and line ran.
Hood lights wired and working.
Fuel gauge mounted, but not hooked up yet. That mount was $20 at pepboys. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

Yes. I'm not 100% on the rod adjustment or how they are "supposed" to feel. Gonna have to get a 2nd opinion this weekend....unless someone stops by....
I plan to do my solid mount on Friday. I bought this one from Veeparts. Same price as CIP1, but no shipping.
Pics...as promised.

Also started to mount the bumper....ran out of MIG wire and killed my 3/8" drill bit....still have to do the other side and finish this side.
The welds were crappy...I think it was partially due to running out of wire. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

VDO fuel gauge connected.
I grounded the sender wire and the gauge went to full....unlike the stock gauge. Looking like a bad sender.
Or...could be low on gas. (I'll find that out tonight)
I'm also a bit concerned about gas mileage, but I'll be bringing a fuel can. _________________ Look at my for sale ads.

Dont pull the trans completly. Just jack it up and install the mounts.
Mine fell on my foot moving it from the frame horns _________________ '69 Baja Bug

I was going to pull the engine. And change the transaxle fluid while I have 'er opened up.
Any special tools that I'm going to need, besides the normal metric 19 and below? _________________ Look at my for sale ads.
