Who cares if it is a repost. Patti Smith is a national treasure. She and Fred were seen often at Downtown events.
I have posted this cover before and if is an awesome tribute to the original...

Patti and Bruce write a song. Then some damn fine artists cover it. That is talent. Nobody does it like Patti but geez. Some people do it well for the next generations to enjoy.

Oldies but goodies... I've been listening to old Dave Mason albums in preparation to see him locally Saturday.
- Traffic ('68)
- Delaney & Bonnie ('70)
- Alone Together ('70)
- Headkeeper ('72)
Interesting path... he started with Traffic, then with Delaney & Bonnie Bramlett, then a solo career, and and along with several other bands, including for George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" solo work.
Interestingly, there is a 50-year circle that includes Delaney and Bonnie from the '60s, their daughter Bekka Bramlett, along with whom he joined Fleetwood Mac for their 1995 "Time" album, joining them on the tour in the mid-'90s.
Mason remained friends with Mick Fleetwood, and they recently played together in Hawaii during the pandemic under the group name "The Quarantines".

Lots of space and texture in the production, nothing like new albums.

Bonus track: Dave's contribution to Fleetwood Mac's "Time" album. Best song on the disc!:

The Stone Roses-
Love Spreads-
Lyrics
Love spreads her arms
Waits there for the nails
I forgive you boy
I will prevail
Too much to take
Some cross to bear
I'm hiding in the trees with a picnic
She's over there, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
She didn't scream
She didn't make a sound
I forgive you boy
But don't leave town
Cold black skin
Naked in the rain
Hammer flash in the lightning
They're hurting her again
Let me put you in the picture
Let me show you what I mean
The messiah is my sister
Ain't no king, man, she's my queen
Let me put you in the picture
Let me show you what I mean
The messiah is my sister
Ain't no king, man, she's my queen
I have a dream
I've seen the light
Don't put it out, and she's alright
Yeah, she's my sister
She didn't scream
She didn't make a sound
I forgive you boy
But don't leave town
Cold black skin
Naked in the rain
Hammer flash in the lightning
They're hurting her again
Oh, oh, oh
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Let me put you in the picture
Let me show you what I mean
The messiah is my sister
Ain't no king, man, she's my queen
Let me put you in the picture

I have it on vinyl. The fact that vinyl has had a resurgence is one of the few things that make me think there is still hope for humanity. _________________ Making VW's and America great again. |

I always feel like an idiot saying this but my kids made me aware of the fact that most ‘famous ‘ performers don’t write the stuff they perform. The songwriters get way too little credit imho
Lots of people can play, few can create. Prince did both. _________________ .ssS! |

Danish Group...
#1 song...Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood Lyrics
[Intro]
There's a Cadillac out in the dark
There's a guitar gangster lighting a smoke
And he feels the night and he feels the fire
[Verse 1]
Driving into the city unknown
Ten small houses, what the face in the cold
And then feel the night, can you feel the fire?
[Chorus]
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
They came from the road and out of the dark
Went into a place even darker
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
[Verse 2]
Walking into a place called The Bar
People looking like a ghost had arrived
And he feels the eyes, can you feel the eyes?
[Chorus]
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
They came from the road and out of the dark
Went into a place even darker
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
[Bridge]
Dear ladies, gentlemen, don't be afraid
We're here to ease your pain
Let it all start with a song
I'm sure we'll get along
[Chorus]
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
They came from the road and out of the dark
Went into a place even darker
Guitar gangsters and Cadillac Blood
EDIT:
HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Right/Wrong
Song by Night Beats
Lyrics:
Sometimes I forget this animal
Is missing I don't know I cannot regret
If I'm right or wrong when I do a song
But I needed it only you
Want us to have a drink
Of maybe soon
What is wrong with you
What you want me to say to you
I can help you find
Then a peace of mind
That I need to learn
Is all in your mind
Why can't this be the future of this
What else do you need to know
Never needed you
Not going to follow you
Now I'm coming back for you

Lyrics
In a room all alone
Waiiting by the telephone
With a tear in his eye and a pen in his hand
So begins the diary of a working man
He'd been poor man all his life
And just when things were going right
Some stranger takes his woman away
He doesn't know if he'll see
Oh, another day
Oh, another day
Time has come and he was right
It was a cold and rainy night
And he thought for sure she would follow
But it won't be the same, no...
Tomorrow
Now here's a man glory bound
In a pool of dreams about to drown
If he can just get through this night
Then maybe tomorrow things
Will work out right
Oh, will work out right
Well, with the pain in his blood
He'd love to take her if he could
And as he wakes with a scream
To only realize it's just reality
He woke with sweaty hands
Maybe there'll be a change in plans
With a tear in his eye and a gun in his hand
So ends the diary of a workingman

Searchin’
Blackfoot
Track 9-
Well, I'm walkin' on a road that
Ends when I'm gone
Lawd, I'm runnin', yeah, from all the things
I fear the most
I need some directions on how, that I can find my life
Well, I'm just like you, I Lawd, I'm searchin'
Well, they tell me that a man must crawl before he can walk
Yes, they told me, oooh. you gotta cry before you can talk
I've done me enough crawlin'
It made me moan and cry out loud
Are you with me now?
Searchin' for the life you cannot find
Searchin' for the one you left behind
Gotta give me a reason, show me your light
Stand up and fight for yourself
Oooh. are you searchin'
Can you remember when you were young, you had your fun
And your first love stole your heart, maybe tore it apart
And did you pick up the pieces
Right or wrong, were you strong to fight?
Well, I was just like you, l.....
Searchin' for the one you cannot find
Searchin' for the one you left behind
Searchin' for the one you left behind
Gotta give me a reason, show me your light
