CIP1 was selling them a few years ago, I would check there.

I had one when they first came out. I belive I paid $500 and I thought they were a good deal, for someone looking to have a tent you could actually use. Not ever having a true Westy tent I liked the quality of this one, the pole and stake bags was not that good as was mentioned before. I would buy another if I needed a tent.

I had one too, but keep in mind all you get is the awning and the material is quite a bit thinner than OG.

Thanks, CIP has em for like $265 for just the material ( I already have a couple real westy tents I can use poles from). I don't mind the thinner material, I just want one to use on a beater bus when needed.

The only thing about the CIP tent is they want $70 to ship just the material to me?! Confused I just ordered two HUGE boxes of sheet metal from them and it was only $150 and this tent top which is about the size of sweatshirt folded up is $70...?! What the heck it should be like $12-$15 max to ship.

I think that they ship them from BBT, hence the high shipping charges.

I'd buy a complete tent from CIP1 but shipping is $171, making the tent $721.

A lot cheaper than the real thing if you can find one. But, yeah, brutal shipping charge.
I wonder why BBT never made the walls?

I assume BBT and PLF aren't making tent sides? CIP only sells the top and poles, no sides... is there any other sources?

Does anybody have a pattern for the tent sides? Maybe I can get a similar fabric and have them made?

The poles are out of stock at CIP1. BBT is also sold out as far as I know.

It's worth noting we haven't been able to find anything to match the original material or stripe pattern from the reproduction BBT tents.

We use Sunbrella material as it's UV resistant and almost waterproof and much easier to fold / store than canvas.

There are many two-tone stripe patterns available here: https://www.trivantage.com/fabric-awning-sunbrella...ze:16&

For those still looking for poles, I’ve found two options:

“Bus and Roll” out of Spain (?). He’s doing a run right now.

https://busandroll.com/en/

And this guy out of France who has them mislabeled as “pickets”. Risky click in this one though… he just joined and no feedback yet….

I heard that BBT was getting ready to make them again, so I reached out to them and got an email back. They are developing the poles first and then will make tents again. That was 2 or 3 months ago.

Good to hear that BBT Bob is thinking of making those repro tents again. I have two of his pole/tent/roof mount sets from the initial batch still unused in my basement storage. And somewhere I have a few photos of the shelving racks in the BBT warehouse stacked full of hundreds of the tent/pole sets during one of my many visits, probably a decade or so ago... I'll post if I can locate 'em.

I hope that Jacek starts selling on theSamba again. I've seen his stuff at shows in Europe, and his repro tent poles were top notch. It's tough to run a small mail order business and deal with overseas customers. Probably easier to just sell direct locally. But damn, he makes and sources nice stuff.
