Glad you beefed up that front extension. It looks much safer now.

To tell ya the truth, I think the first time you take it on the road the front end will be self lowering... from the looks of it, you just welded 4 tubes to the old front beam... not gonna hold up, it'll twist either the frame head or the old beam will fold.

just my $.02

Other than that, I'd like to see it rollin'!

There's a guy near Chattanooga TN that makes thos sawed off bugs. He had a bus at Bugapalooza for sale. I've seen a few with a wind up key sticking out of the rear deck, they hook it up to turn when driving.
Anyways looks cool.

Still not enough IMO. I said it before as dozens of other people has, please reconsider the beam extension. It really looks pretty damn scary to me. We're not bashing your ride, just concerned about your safety and others around you.

I was being sarcastic, Nick.

yup...like said previously. it will end up in the scrap heap by 2010 as long as it's kept in ratrod state.
1. it's unsafe you'll get hounded by po-po's everywhere

2. it's not pretty and the novelty of it will eventually get old

3. it's not going to be comfortable or reliable enough to drive very often

4. this stuff is hard to re-sell, just look how proud the P.O. was to just give it away.

i support you for finishing the project though, you just have a lot of things working against you. Kinda like a high school auto shop car. You fix it up, you learn how it works, but you never actually intend to drive that piece of sh*t anywhere

I have to say that I was with this guy until I saw the "finished" project. I think he just took shortcuts everywhere, and because of that he'll have so many problems with it and it will be so uncomfortable that it will end up scrapped before long.

I also thing that front beam will snap. If it didn't already and that's why he stopped posting because he doesn't want to hear a bunch of "I told you so's" .But I have to say I admire him for sorta finishing the project and for at least trying.

hey sorry i havent posted in a while, we havent done any more work on it because or other projects, but i actually sold it. i built a 1600 for it and we found a new trans.

we let it go for $1500 it was kind of a loan thing from a friend of ours, hes funding our other projects and haveing a hell of a time with the car at the same time Very Happy

i dont have pics but we welded a huge piece of plate steel from the beam that we welded the extension to back to the tunnel. and then we braced the extension to the plate. its hard to describe but it will work.

its far from completion but the guys been driveing it, not as a daily but to random car shows and crap.

so eventually it will end back up in out hands but for the time being it funded some other projects.
