Hi Wout,
That is a shame. Is there any chance you could send me the dimensions or a cross section of the profile?
Thanks,
Andrew |
Hi Andrew
Yes indeed but money and effort is not worth the risk to get stuck with many meters profile and the interest up to now is almost none.
Sent you the sketch. Maybe there's somewhere a profile that can be bought from the shelf that matches?

Did you check on the Face Book group? And yes, I bet you get little interest. A tool caddy is one of those things everyone wants - especially in the states, but few pony up the cash. In Europe you can go to the tool rep and get a lot of these parts Id guess or pilfer off another damaged one. _________________

I don't have FB but I check the Hazet groups from time to time. No response on FB either. Even when some where looking for a stool, zero response came when my good friend Philipp posted a link to my repro stools .

Does anyone have any dimensions for the Hazet Assistent locking bar found on earlier carts ?
I can’t seem to find one to buy. I think it should be pretty easy to make my own.
Pic for attention, as all the cool kids say. |

Blue knob goes on the front, not the back post. |

Has anyone seen an Assistent like this ?
It is not mine. Just seen it advertised.
Wondered was it real or not.
Thanks.

Hello all,
Just to say that my Hazet Assistent tool trolley restoration is almost finished and I plan on getting some original style rubber profile made all being well.
I managed to also find a couple of more rare trolleys both from 1954 era that I am slightly restoring. One of which has a locking mechanism and is shorter that my other 3 level trolley.
My dad made the locking bar from stainless steel and I think it looks great.
Cheers,
Andrew |

Wow 😮, that would be a serious candidate for the Concours d’Élégance.
Great restoration! |

😊 thanks very much! A lot of work and research has gone into it. I managed to find all the original paint colours which makes the difference. 👍 |

Brilliant resto Ted. Would your Dad be willing to make & sell another locking bar ?
I’m only across the pond in Ireland. So shipping would be astronomical.

Hi Dan,
Thanks a lot. I have just spoken to him and he has said that he can make one for you. £40 plus p&p for the stainless steel bar. Not sure how much the post will be but can find out if you want to go ahead.
Cheers |

I figured the group would get a kick out of this. An Assistent is used as a prop in Galaxy's Edge in both Disneyland and Disney World.
