I learned to mask out a little further. No matter what the manufacturer says about this fabric paint, it does wear off. I was able to brush off some of the overspray, and then touch up the burgundy areas. Nonetheless, wear off or not, it is not difficult to freshen the seat color anytime, using this product, for a show and shine.

The black does not cover all that well; but it is good enough to obtain the contrast you see.

This image shows one coat of black on the seat bottom. The seat back has five coats. It does require several coats to get the color you want. The burgundy covered better than the black. Each coat dries fairly fast, but for best results be sure it is completely dry before recoating.

Someone asked me if this upholstery paint would stain a white t-shirt. I just happened to have some t-shirt rags in the shop, nice and clean, so I rubbed one vigorously on the upholstery. It did transfer some of the color to the t-shirt.

For a second test I rubbed another area of the upholstery, on the lower back of the seat, with a damp kitchen scotch-brite sponge, and let it dry. This softened the surface of the upholstery, which was stiffened by the recoloring. Then I tested that area, and the color again transferred to the white t-shirt.

For a last test I laid another clean t-shirt rag on the seat and sat on it, moving around on it for awhile, and there was no noticeable transfer of color to the shirt.

I threw the first t-shirt, that had color transfer on it, into the wash, and the color did not all wash out.

So the short answer to the question, of whether the color will transfer to light colored clothing, is yes and no.

If we have a problem with color transfer we will use a removable full seat pad, or wear darker clothing.

Lapped the valves and put my heads back on and the engine is ready to go back on to the transmission.
Also added my EGT sensor onto the header.

Next on the list is building a new front beam with height adjusters, new King Pins and link pins along with my chevy wheel patterned front discs.
Here is the start of the disassembly.

Recently purchased a buggy that started life as a 56 beetle. Last night I swapped out the front drums for an EMPI disc brake kit. Turns out the brakes were terrible because there were no shoes up front! Got everything disassembled, cleaned up, and mounted the kit. Tonight I'll be installing the new master cylinder and brake lines. Hopefully she'll be ready to drive in to work Friday morning!

THAT, is a nice pan!
Are those brake lines? I just replace all my buggy's brake lines, and compared to yours mine looks like they were installed by a blind orangutan.

Finished up a rewiring project on my Water Injection system.

Two Hobbs pressure switches each activating a solenoid for staged Water Injection. One Hobbs activates a solenoid at 4.0 lbs boost with a 1.0 gph nozzle and the second Hobbs activate a solenoid at 10.0 lbs boost for another 2.0 gph nozzle for a total of 3.0 gph up to 22 lbs boost.
Everything is ground activated with indicator lights on the dash for each nozzle so I can tell if the water is on.

Also got my king pins rebuilt and new front disc brakes installed.
