This is my 86 Syncro Weekender purchased last Sept. I've been using it to go skiing in up in Colorado this winter, runs very well in the snow.

I learned that on my own, also. When I was researching Vanagons and looking at another one, I wanted to figure out if it was air or watercooled, and I noticed the little grille and figured it out.
I have this thread, and didn't even have one of my own bus.
Anybody that has one of the direct front, post it because soon I will be making my slideshow of these pictures. |

The awning is called the Carport, made by Kelty. Comes in 2 sizes, M or L, and runs about $250 for the L. I got mine from www.campmor.com You can get it at REI as well. It's nice, as it rolls up into a nice tent sized bundle for storage, and can be mounted on just about any vehicle No permanent attachment brackets needed! |

Nice van and tent setup, I believe you taught the end of my Wilderness First Responder Class for WMI up at HSU earlier this year. Good to see you are into Westies too, I woulda BS'ed with you about them had I known.
Here's our 2.6i Microbus, Penelope Anne, or "Penny" for short. I plan to custom install some yellow/amber inner fog lights from a older 300d mercedes soon, I don't need no stinkin overpriced SA grill. Also plan to run the higher voltage relays and get new h-4 rounds with some 80/100w Hellas. Can't wait for this summer's big trip

Hey Jedi, I like that monocolor paint theme. Looks good. (Not nearly as good as the hottie chica though). _________________ 83 1/2 Westy waterboxer

Thanks brudah, I think it gives it a clean look. All OG paint except bumpers and grill. Somedays I'm not fellin' the grill, others I like. Might get a black one to change with mood.
BTW- there are alot of sweet vans this post brought out of the woodwork. _________________ 1987 Wolfsburg T25 still riding out. A bunch of other VW's passed on... |
