I wondered about that point, too. But that is the absolute least of the issues with that bus, and the seller. _________________ nothing |

6 v is fine for a daily driver.... ive yet to find a 6v battery that can sit for more than a few months without going bad, my 12v stuff sits for months and starts rite up, it really sucks buying a 120$ battery and having to install it when you get an itch for a cruise, by the time you get it primed and fired up your "over it" |

All but one of ours is 6V and they all sit all winter without being fired up. Worse we have to do is squirt a little fuel down the carb or crank the starter a little longer in the Spring.
Battery drain doesn't discriminate between 6V or 12V |

Looking at the 8 extra lights cut into the back panels of it were 12v lights. New fuses in the engine bay not really leading to anything too. At some point, someone tried to do some electrical work to it and it obviously didnt work out. I have 6v motorcycles and they "work." Im not saying that 6v is the devil, but mixing the different systems isnt going to get you to Woodstock 2020 lol Plus it was my mention to bring that wiring/electrical issue to the lady more than anything else. _________________ 2012 Tiguan 4motion

That thing is a massive turd. You're lucky she's is unreasonable about the price. You can find better deals on the Samba if you look long enough. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

I have a 5 year old red 6 volt Optima that last usually from mid to late December until most times mid to late February without starting in an unheated garage and it fires right up _________________ July 1959 Mango Standard Bus aka Obus L346 L347 https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=256592&highlight=

My Optimas last a long time but it has more to do with the condition of the electrical system than anything. My '63 will fire right up after sitting for a long time (although I drive that the most). My Double Cab is more "weathered" and will crank nicely but not fire unless I charge the battery first. It might work better with a 6v starter relay, which my '63 has on it. _________________ How to Post Photos

13k for that doesn’t seem like too good of a deal to me. Maybe it is over there. Must be a regional thing. _________________ GFK

Yeah, pricey for it but for Vermont I was wondering if it was rusty or if not, why. |

Yeah definitely doesn’t look like a typical bus for that area. Busses from New England don’t patina like that normally. _________________ GFK

Sure they do:
That is a NE Bus ^^^^ Still sitting in the same spot 10 years later.
Looks like some rocker rot hiding in one of the pics. I'm pretty sure I've bought some VW parts from that guy years ago, and not that great a deal @ $13K... _________________ Tom

This ad came up this afternoon and then disappeared in about an hour. A One owner dry CA 1963 double cab in Turkis, complete except the engine needs to be rebuilt for $15,900. The ad said it was put in a garage 40 years ago and stored the entire time indoors. If I didn't already own a nice double cab I would have been all over that one.
