Howdy, recently adjusted the timing to "all in" 35degrees at 3000 rpm. I think this noise in the link below (high pitch ticking) is new and am curious what you guys think. I hear two distinct noises, the first being the underlying engine noise (continues the entire video) maybe lifter? and the second being the higher pitched intermittent ticking noise at around 1,3,5 and 11 seconds. Engine is warm.

As far as I am aware, detonation (pinging) only occurs at high temps while engine is under load, not idling.

| Hard to tell from a recording but all I hear is lifter noise. Detonation sounds like a rattle thats mostly not in time with the engine cycle and usually only happens under load. |

Ok so load vs idle, that makes me feel better. We're able to hear the two different noises?

I THINK so, I was hearing the engine exhaust note and a 'tip-tip-tip-tip' noise that sounded like lifters. |
