wow, this is entertaining.
so I will have an early apron for sale this summer, when I get back to where I have the car stored. but I won't sell it until I have good pictures of all sides of the apron.
splitdog - you have first crack at it, if you can wait a couple months. I aint taking any money until you see better photos though.

This one looks great!! Now Lind you can take it out with a can opener and a comalong or you can drill out all the spot welds. I lean towards the latter if you don't mind. We can clearly see what the can opener and comalong does.. heh heh
Lind
If Splitdog doesn't need that one I will take it..

Paul actually sent a nice letter apologizing and stating his intentions. He sent pics of some cars he worked on and they look really good. He also sent the check. So, I will be sending the apron back tomorrow, and I think he'll send the rest. I will keep you posted..... Right on, Samba! _________________ CH³NO²

Man, I can't believe I read all 5 pages of this crap.
I've dealt with Paul for years, in person. He's a stand up guy, and Splitdog, you'll get your money back. He's not out to screw anyone over.
I think there was a serious lack of communication here of what was expected and what was available. That's it.
When he told me he'd sold the apron to a west coaster for $300 and no one asked for pictures, I wondered how that was gunna go down. I didn't see it after he'd removed it, and I never paid much attention to the car before either, so as far as condition goes I have no real comment.
A picture's worth a thousand words, and Paul sure gave us thousands of words... |

Someone came by Lenny's and said they heard about my plight and asked if this would ease my apron woes.
Thank you Rich Kimball. This is 'very good shape' to me. _________________ CH³NO²

You've got to be kidding me.
I spoke to you several time on the phone, reduced the asking price, put you ahead of other willing buyers, sent you timely e-mail responses, promptly sent you the part once pmt cleared, and sent you info for another willing buyer I put you ahead of who wanted to buy it the same day you did.
As far as history and condition?
You saw pictures of the case. It's a good used case, where was it stated as "excellent"?
If the case will not work for your needs, either send it back or sell it to the other guy who is ready to buy it. |

HAHA first off i NEVER spoke to you on the phone, i left you SEVERAL voicemails and you called me ONCE which i missed. second it is not my problem who you sold it to, for all i know since you lie so much I was the only one with money now and everyone else was just kicking tires. second it was not a detailed photo, it was one pic from far away. dont make me start pulling emails to quote you...
second...this case was NEVER owned by shawn geers, let alone run in his "9 second flamed beetle"
you thought name dropping him would help your sale, well I talk to shawn for my own reasons, asked him about this case, and he laughed saying yes he SHIPPED it to you, for a customer...thats a far stretch from saying he owned it AND ran 9s with it.
YES there is somebody else interested in the case, big deal... |

Hi,
There are three others interested in this case currently.
One guy has been saving up and I quoted him $1650.
Another is contemplating the need for the .100" cam drop.
The third may want thecase and the heads I have to go with it.
I'm not in a dire need to sell it, so first to decide and pay will end up with it.
If it is still around later, I will just end up putting it to use in another car.
Thanks for the offer though,
Paul
and as far as the history, read from bottom up

Well, I have well over $100K in race parts/ Hp parts for the various cars I have.
This is just excess that I am parting with along with some of the other stuff I've posted.
The case is in very good condition. Shawn sold the car running, the guy who bought it wanted more power, I ended up with the case and heads.
Shawn ran 9.70's with this case and heads, he ran 9.40's with his latest set up.
9.70's is no longer fast enough if you want to win the PRA, TxPRA, ECPRA prostock races.
If you know about these cases, then you know they don't wear like the magnesium STD cases. Just because they were used with a high horsepower motor doesn't mean they are "worn out". These cases keep the internals stable so they don't flex and break.
Are you sure this is the quality case you are in need of??
Are you building a 300+ Hp engine?
Will you be running 14-16:1 compression?
Are you planning on a turbo where you will need the 6 head studs per cyl?
Let me know,
Paul

so im assuming this case has been through the fire. why didnt you run it.
[email protected] wrote: It's not "weathered" at all. It is the case the Shawn Geers ran in his 9sec. flamed beetle.
I have the heads also avail. $4800 delivered (in US)for both.
Let me know,
Paul

whats the history on the case, it appears pretty weathered. was it a sprint car motor?
dont make me find the email where you brag about how well known you are on the east coast and how you innovated the front engine vw doorslammer LMAO
just do a search about this "innovator" and how he still has an 009 in his personal racer ROTFL |

"he still has an 009 in his personal racer " |
Obviously you answered YES to these questions.
Your e-mail claimed, "Where do i send you 1650? I'll take it. serious. Its mine."
You show several e-mails between us, so, there must of been plenty of contact going on, right?
As far as history. I told you exactly what I am told about the case. I have the box with the shipping label from Shawn Geers. I am told it came from the flamed car he sold to Alan Fore. Alan sent the engine back to Shawn. Alan then bought a notchback and sold the flamed car.
The case and heads were then sold to a friend of mine, and sent to him by Shawn, and I ended up with them. That is what I am told.
If you've found differently, then I guess my friend was misled and I'm stuck in the middle now.
Did you buy it for it's "history"? No, you bought it because you wanted it.
You also spent several months considering it and made lower offers. Should I post all your e-mails?
As my e-mail stated,
"I'm not in a dire need to sell it, so first to decide and pay will end up with it. If it is still around later, I will just end up putting it to use in another car."
AGIAN,
If the case will not work for your needs, either send it back or sell it to the other guy who is ready to buy it.
Obviously I'm decent enough to offer this option, so what more do you want?
As far as the "009"- sure, I run it and with points. That engine runs 11.40's in 1800 lb. car. I run the "009" to show it can be done. You don't need high dollar parts to go fast.
That's also not the only ignition I have / run.
BTW, you can see pics of the initial building of my front engine tube car in July '97 HVW's
Also, why aren't you just using the scat case you have for sale?

Well Paul since you obvoiusly know NOTHING about high performance ACVW's I will fill you in...all SCAT cases are not the same, there are differences that make them unusable from one application to the next. So that is why I am not using that case. The reason you arent using any, is because you CANT.
just do a search for "vwinnovator" and you can see how knowledgeable you are.
july 97 huh, so its been in the process for 10 years and its STILL not done? HA!!
You cannot lie about something and then cry "thats what I was told" and expect not to get called on it. Its still a lie. plain and simple.
And am i supposed to be impressed with 11.40s? sorry dude my daily driver when i was 18 went faster than that. so much for "innovator" huh?
Yes you lowered the price for some guy who was "saving up" and I stepped up with money NOW, even spent $20 to have it sent as quickly as possible to you. How am i the bad guy for paying the price you offered to somebody else?
so did it "go 9s in shawns car" or did it just say "shawn geers on the shipping label" BIG JUMP THERE BUDDY
I did NOT buy it for its history but YOU used its history to back up just how good your product is...you are really messed up in the head
