Sometimes my 3 year old likes to look at pics of buses, so I pull up threads like this.
He said, "I love that bus!"

Pics from this summer in Oregon.
Maupin (both kids and our husky):
Tillicum (w/shore power & water)
South Beach RV park (w/shore power & water)
Got a good number of people passing by, giving us a thumbs-up or stopping to chat about their Bus and wonderful memories. By far the most visited RV that weekend.
However, the wife bought some competition:
This will be for trips that are for more than a couple of days. The Bus is NOT leaving & not for sale! I got a new tranny w/Peloquin torsion differential & Berg shifter, all new brakes, and over $1k in Renogy stuff I've bought and installing for more comfortable boondocking. _________________ Toby http://www.aircoolednut.com/

Nice Metahacker!
What do you do with the Smoker at night as we'd have bears, cougars, and raccoons visiting if we left that hanging off the back after dark?
Maybe we need to start a "Bays and Food in the Wilderness" thread. Now I'm hungry,.... and thirsty. _________________ *******************************

This photo is the mental image I had when I bought my camper Bus, and look forward to once it's set up and reliable! |

Amazing place! It's called Five Rocks and is pretty remote and difficult to get to. Lots of big tiger sharks and the occasional salt water crocodile but they mostly stay away from the beach and hang out in the rivers or mangrove areas.
It's a bit too far north to get consistent waves as the Great Barrier Reef blocks the swell.. but the secret is if the swell is straight east it passes through a gap in the reef and islands 🤙
Have scored massive waves there once but it's scary as hell being in the water.. knowing what lives there coupled with the remoteness and the likely fact you're alone haha
Best thing about modding your VW for offroad is to be able to go places like this!

Went to Red River Valley VW show in Fargo, then headed south to the Blackhills and Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. Returned to Rochester, MN with zero problems (other than broken antenna mount). Great place for buses!

About as wild as it will get over here
Old military roads in the Italien Alps around Bardonecchia
On the way down from Colle del Sommeiler 2993m, about as high as you get on 4 wheels in the Alps
