Some fine early panel eye candy ya got there! Im in south west MN and deal in salvage of all sorts, the last split project I seen/bought was about 15 years ago.It kinda dried up around here when iron/car bodies went up about 10 years ago. Most farmers cleaned out there groves and hauled junk out for scrap.

Pardon my novice-ness, but what type of bus is this? Im trying to seal a purchase for one that looks just like this, only with an engine, trans, wheels, and rolls, with no interior seats. Just looking to learn more about this variation!

That bus started life as a panel bus and someone added windows to try to make it into a camper at one point in time. At least that is the reason why windows were typically added to buses. This is not a VW factory made Westy camper bus, those ones are worth way more. The photos you show also had the swivel seat (front divers seat) option which is quite rare. Most panel buses had a normal bench front seat or a walk through option had separate fixed drivers seat and passenger seats. The swivel seat buses are rare, more desirable and worth more money. You can tell by the very small bulkhead section behind the front seat area.

John kind of dropped out of the scene. I stopped in and visited on one of my cross country trips over a decade ago. He was out of the scene at that point, but still very much liked buses and had several of them. We would love to have him back in the scene.

That is the Yellowstone river . I could see all the cars flying across I 90 as we were digging out this old girl..it was conveniently tucked right behind the cabin sitting on the ground there for at least 40 years. You could see the cabin from the interstate but not the bus..pretty crazy.
