Have you considered simply starting with a nicer bus? I don't know what your skills are, but the race is easier if you can see the finish line. If you are not a runner, don't start off doing a marathon. |

Wheat King. Not exactly a recent find, but wanted to share with the group now that it is back in service. This truck has a great story and as close to an original owner situation as we will ever find these days. 1966 Double Cab, velvet green, 27,000 original miles. Purchased from the original owner in 2002 by Todd Penn of Aircooled Classics. Todd is working to thin his collection and this truck has been one of his favorites. He had serviced this truck for years when the family offered it to him in 2002.
This year the truck was revived in anticipation of sale. New brakes, tires, shocks, fluids, axel boots, main seal, and basic tune up. Replaced select portions of lower metal due to long term storage in a leaky garage. The engine, transmission, front beam, and interior are original and never disassembled.
Original owner purchased the truck new 11/22/1966 from Suburban Import Motors of Watertown WI for $2434.95. It spend the majority of its life on the Canadian Prairies. Recently returned to the USA via a flawless 1000mi drive along secondary roads. New friends, waves, and stories at every stop along the way. Now titled in MN and resides in Minneapolis. Tucked away for the winter. Enjoy.

The Wango Mango
Pulled this 61 Mango out of Los Lunas New Mexico about 3 weeks ago. Its in pretty good shape except looks like some thing hit the drivers long panel.

Cool Mango. Do not see too many low-hinge Mango Buses. _________________ ---

Very nice! Looks like it was hidden nicely with all the overgrowth from passers by...
That goes to show you, they're still out there. Most out of view, but still out there. |

Its had been in the same spot for about 20 years, the deceased owner would never sell it and you know how the story goes. |

icekoffee, that was not meant to be a complain. Also I mentioned the stunning floor for good reason
I hope whoever buys it will start a thread on the build.
