Hi,
I bought a second hand gearbox in unknown condition from a guy.
Started to dismantle it an saw there was some damage on the rear axle.. can the axle still be used or is it toast? Rest of the axle feels really smooth en fullcrum plates are in good condition..

Without touching it I'd say those will go forever. Switch sides if you want to hit on a fresher surface. |

That spade looks like it’s been run both sides
Most axle shafts from buses have wear. Put a straight edge over the spade to see how much.
They are useable, fwiw.
This is very nice. Hard to find a bus one this nice.
Don’t let the fulcrum plates slip or you can get this
These are bug, which tend to have less thrash than bus
