I bought the CB TIII kit (Linkage, Manifolds, Cleaners, Tops)
High quality, good fit.
Did take a while to get to me though.
I removed the whole thing cause I couldn't get it to work with the automatic transmission. Still want to give it another try though.

that looks like a really clean set up....there shouldnt be any problems with hooking it in a manual right....i wouldnt think that there would be...i am goin to have to check that site out...so with that set up you could probably use any style carbs for it huh...thanks |

those are EMPI HPMX 40
weber 40 IDF clones
Weber 44's will fit also.
Dunno about anything else.
I'd buy a used set of Webers before i bought a new set of the EMPIs
Manual should be NO problem _________________

I seriously considered it but the Pans are different. So I'd either have to find a manual pan (which I might do) fix it up then swap the body.
Or
Modify the existing pan for a manual. Which would be $$ and down time for the vehicle.

No provisions for a clutch cable inside the frame. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey

Use a hydraulic clutch conversion. Not stock, but easier than swapping pans. Lots of dunebuggy guys use them. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Tram, more info??
Is it like running another hyd line next to the brake line then tying it into a master cylinder next off the trans.
Guess I could search the Offroad Forum. But I'm afraid of USMCcord's short shorts.

Exactly, but it's a slave cylinder next to the trans. The master is by the pedal, just like a brake master. So, you'd need a new pedal assembly. You won't be able to use the stock pedal, unless you do a little engineering. Would be easiest to change over the whole pedal assembly to a hydraulic unit, where both the brake and clutch are hydraulic.
Something like this:
I think that one is running a hydraulic fuel pedal as well.
I know Martin @ The DDB has done this for customers. There may be pics on http://www.theddb.com or on The Samba under his name. |

notched, that setup looks like forward controls for a harley. Pretty cool.
Nice to know there is an option to go hydraulic, rather than pan swap. _________________

Looks like ISP carries a simpler kit. You might have to drill a hole in the clutch pedal assy. like the one on the brake pedal for the M/C rod, and do some other cutting/ mods, but I've heard that these work really well.

That ISP hydraulic clutch set-up is slick. Looks plug 'n play. _________________ Phillip Bradfield
