Subject line says it all 
85 westy 4 speed
About once per second the rpm goes up 1 or 2 hundred rpm and comes back down. (tough to say, don't have a tach)
I think this may qualify as my westy's first "problem" in the 5+ years I've had it, although it doesn't hurt the performance of the van so far. Drove over 500 miles 2 days ago, and another 200 yesterday, into santa barbara today..

| I would think one possibility (and there are many more) is the "idle stablizer", a little box with two connectors on the left side of the engine compartment, is bad. |
