I have a 1990 weekender. I have seen these short shift kits for sale on Van cafe. My shifter is a little sloppy and at times it is hard to find 1st gear. Would installing this kit help? Is it worth installing anyway? any pro's or con's?

| A quick shift will NOT make your shifting less sloopy; it WILL reduce the travel of the shift knob, thereby reducing the long reach for 3rd gear (you are only changing the fulcrum point). I have one installed; would I buy another? "maybe". Van Cafe has the parts to replace your shifter parts (those in the cab and visable when you unbolt the shift lever); also lubricate all the parts under the van. |
