This site is a good start, I thought:
http://www.vanagon.com/info/tires/index.html
and compliments THIS site, which doesn't mention rims:
http://www.roadhaus.com/tires.html
I'd like to put 15" rims under Winston, his current tires are under the load rating, noisy, and he turns like the Exxon Valdez.
I've been quoted $200 for 5 Audi 5000 T-is-for-Turbo rims. Bore out the center rim, maybe the holes, I don't think anybody's mentioned needing a spacer with the steel rims but the first site says you need one and my head hurts. I've found '98 Passat 15x6's for $34 each, a lot cheaper, the first site says you need a spacer for those.
I'd like to do a table like the first one cited here, so that we can all figure out what rims will work how with what when for how much. Mercedes 15x6's are a lot more rare and a lot more expensive. They might work. Lot of dead Passats out there.
How's about we just post what we got to work?
Winston's bone stock, 14" x 5.5, 5 x 112, Big O PathMax 27x8.5x14 on him.
