I "might" know who owns that Bus? And he's lived in Northern Illinois for a long time... If I'm right, there have been a lot of epic "safety meetings" held in that old Camper.

What's the logo on the side. Kind of looks like a roasted turkey holding the carving knife.

If I remember right, it says "Great Dane" with a red background, just below the beltline...

Somebody explain the vehicle in front of the bus.

A delivery vehicle of some sort. I'm sure someone will either know the exact model and coachbuilder or know where that car is located now. lol

Not quite that much detail, but it looks like a bog-standard Renault 4 delivery van. Very Happy

From the tv show Eight is Enough. I found it on a YouTube clip. I think the brother owned it but I can't tell what kind of camper or the year, maybe 1963-65 Caravelle or Rivera. Church key gas door so not a 1967, big blinkers, pop-out windows, hard to see the door handle and low hinges. I see a dinette table and a bench seat. I'm sure some of you know already. Yes I took a break from grading my hybrid classes. On line grading hell Crying or Very sad , I'm just grateful I still have a job.

Here it is. Movie filmed in Los Angeles, California. Porsche car thieves Ted Varrick and Benjy Taylor (driving; actors Charlie Sheen and D.B. Sweeney) pass by the bus during the car chase with a dark blue Camaro.

"Foul Play" (1978). Filmed on the steep streets in San Francisco, California, police detective Tony Carlson (Chevy Chase) and Gloria Mundy (Goldie Hawn) commandeer several vehicles during the car chase- Lincoln town Car, Chevy Pickup/camper, and Cadillac stretch limousine; and race around the streets. Fastback, Squareback, Ghia Coupe, Beetles, Splittie bus and Baywindow camper are seen. In the last 3 shots, they drive the wrong way up a 1-way street. One of the cars avoiding them smashes into the parked bus. Crying or Very sad

This low-quality YouTube version is the only one I could find, thus the unfortunate blurriness of the images.

I ran across this the other day on YouTube. I thought it was an interesting story and having a VW in it was a bonus for me.

G.I. Blues starring Elvis Presley, made in 1960 and set in Germany featured many VW's. Several Palm Green/ Sand Green Kombis as well as a few other colors and several beetles at various points. During a scene at the airport, a lowlight Ghia convertible is parked next to an oval a big window and a split with another palm green/ sand green kombi. I sign written yellow, blue and white bus drives around the parking lot. Much of the background footage is stock film taken in Germany prior to the main filming in Hollywood. At 1.34.27 a single cab with a beer logo drives down the street, this one has bullet turn signals with overrider bumpers.

My first Bus had pretty crusty doglegs and when I was driving on some rutted forest roads to go camping that bumper mount broke and bent the bumper up when I misjudged how deep a creek was. I pulled up to the campground and couldn't open my door Laughing
