Lotsa good stuff on this Island. Don't think of moving here, though. We're full.

So to recap...

1) You freeze your ass off for 6-7 months.
2) You pay double per gallon of gas than the USA
3) Not many surviving air cooled VW's due to salt and snow.

Sounds like a great time to call Uhaul and relocate South.. Wink

And lose my free health care? And gun control? And a decent electoral process?
Nah, I've seen your president on TV. That's a hard pass.

Here on the West coast, we had 2 snow falls this year, which is double the average.

Lack of snow means lots of old VWs here as well.
As for gas I guess it's the price you pay for living in paradise, I s'pose.
Not sure you could pay me enough to move down and be part of your problems.

I had the good fortune to visit Vancouver and Victoria British Columbia and was greatly impressed with the cleanliness and beauty. They don’t throw trash everywhere and the natives were nice to us. I can see why folks would choose to live there.

Ok, let's get back to prices now as that is the purpose of this topic.

If you want to talk about Canada, feel free to start a topic in Off Topic.

Filled up the 275K mile 1987 Toyota workhorse for $2.60/gallon a couple of days back. The no-name local station has $2.58 on their sign, and a few others show $2.62.

Not sure if I have gotten my money's worth ($2K 13 years and 160K miles ago) out of it. Maybe I should buy a $25K newer truck that gets 30% better mileage so I feel better about my carbon fuckprint. Or not.

Try other area codes. The Oregon area codes and most of the urban Cali area codes were purged last year but the strength of Jenny is that you don't need to keep local.

What's this "Jenny" discount you speak of?

I tried ID, MT and Eastern WA with no luck.

I've had good luck lately with Eugene Jenny. 541 has been reinstated.

The Massachusetts options have also been good lately.

I just filled my DD up at $3.999 a gallon. Thanks California. I'm sure we will be over $4 next week.

Chevron gas near Seattle for $3.39 a gallon, regular for the stock 36 horse. Time to start driving the oval. Leaving the gas station I saw another Bug out today, a clean green late model.

Here in Alberta Canada it's around $1.26 to $1.34 per litre depending on the city and vender.

hard to believe it's so cheap in the US!
