Up to $1.34/ liter for regular and $1.49 for premium here now. It always takes another jump the Friday before the May long weekend and again just before July 1st. Doesn't normally come back down until after the September long weekend.
That's the trend that I have watched over the last 30 or so years. Supply and demand they say... I don't ever recall going into a filling station and demanding to pay more than the asking price... I would like to get my hands on the clown who is!
The way supply and demand really works is: WE have the supply and WE demand more money!! |

But here in the states they are trying to tell us this is the summer jump in price now and we won't see the traditional Memorial Day jump. We'll just have to wait and see about that. _________________ Rick

As much as I HATE paying for gas, I calm myself with the realization that gas prices even in the $3 dollar range per gallon is still cheap. When you factor in inflation and the rise in wages over the past 3-4 decades.
https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/planes-t...h-history/
I remember paying $1.20 or more per gallon in the early 80's. I was making minimum wage of $3.35 per hour in high school. Gasoline per gallon was REALLY expense as a percentage of my income.
Now gas is $2.75ish where I live and I obviously make substantially more than $3.35 per hour. So, my gasoline expense is massively lower as a percentage of my income. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Getting off the topic but I thought I would point out that you need to compare gas against current minimum wage to do the same comparison, not your job now where you make $500K/year.
And you are right. The current AZ minimum wage is $10.50 so gas at $2.75 is cheaper since it's a lower percentage.
$1.20/$3.35 = It took you 21.5 minutes of work to pay for a gallon
$2.75/$10.50 = It takes you 15.7 minutes of work to pay for a gallon _________________ How to Post Photos

$500k? Nah, it's more like $475k annually.

I do believe North Americans enjoy possibly the lowest gas prices in the world with the possible exception of the United Arab Amorites.
Proof of that is easily seen by the popularity of the fuel guzzling SUVs and pickup trucks driven here by everyone and their Grandmother.
Not may people in other countries can afford that kind of extravagance! |

That sounds like the QT price, you could get another 14 cents cheaper at Costco using their Visa card. 2.44 a gallon last time I checked. Sometimes up to 20 cents per gallon cheaper there as they don’t follow the QT model. Unfortunately they don’t carry non ethanol fuel, it is however “top tier” rated. On an unrelated note and as a preemptive fuck you to oil companies I sold my ghetto cruiser 95 town car, parked my truck and bought a second used Prius as a commuter, I know there’s no love here for hybrids especially Japanese stuff but I’ve cut my fuel bill by over half already. 😁 |

Paid £1.45 per litre for Super(99RON) in Manchester, UK yesterday... so that's about £5.41 per gallon...so $7.18 a gallon, $1.92 a litre for fuel here. _________________ 1971 Iberian Red UK Type 3 Fastback

Not even close. Try $.01/liter in Venezuela. I would venture the difference is the higher income levels here in NA for the love affair with gas guzzlers. One other thing to consider is the propensity for the use of Diesel fuel in Europe. Yeah gas is $7.+ a gallon, but what is the cost of diesel? When I visited Germany a couple of times, the VAST majority of cars there were diesel. If I’m not mistaken, European countries also tax the bejesus out of any fuel over there. I’ll wager the actual fuel cost isn’t that much different it’s the amount of taxes that are imposed.
Anyways , $2.85 the other day when I filled up for 87 octane. Thankfully I don’t have to use premium. Of course I think Non ethanol was over $3 the other day. Luckily I don’t have to fill up my ACVWs very often. _________________ 1960 Indigo Blue Ragtop (Blue Barry)

Yes QT = Quick Trip, guaranteed gasoline...14 cents/ is great, except then i'd have to drive to Tulsa and back = 30 miles AND most importantly, I have zero plastic... am a cash-only man.
Nipponese are top-tier autos, in my book... my daily is a 2005 Civic EX, 2004 Civic Si and have the '87 MR2 - all get around 40 mpg on the open road, 'cept the Si at 32.
...no love here for Nippon? Shame, shame.
... don't really want corn in my engines, thanks.

Fort Wayne, IN is currently at $3.05 for 87.
Luckily my local gas station has a loyalty card that gives you .07 off every day and then if the prices go up that day you get the lower price for the rest of the day. |
