This has probably been covered a billion times, but I did a search and couldn't come up with a firm answer.

Will the doors and nose from a 78/79 bus fit a 76? I am assuming yes, but wanted to make sure before I committed to purchase anything.

Thanks,

Scott

Yes, they will fit But you'll have to check the door hinges on the doors to make shure They are the same as your bus. I believe the hinges changed in mid 76 and stayed the same through 79. Do you have doors on your bus now? The nose should fit it. I'm going to put a 74 nose on my 78 cause it's pushed in on the bottom. Even if the hinges aren't the same you can swap the hinges from a door That has the hinges you need.

Thanks Geno!

Yes, I have doors on it, but the pass door is smashed along w/ the pass side of the nose. I don't know what kind of condition the hinges are in as I haven't taken it apart yet. Thanks again for the reply.

If you get a chance check your hinges. If your hinges use allen bolts to hold them on then if you use 78/79 doors you'll have to change the part of the hinge that bolts to the body. If they use bolts to hold the door to the body your in good shape a 78/79 door will bolt right up. All you have to do is knock the hinge pin out towards the bottom and the hinge will come apart. If you have to change the hinges around. Earlier hinges use a huge hinge pin and later ones use a smaller one. I'm using an earlier door on my 78 so I'm going through this right now too. Smile

If you are sectioning in the nose as well as the doors whatever hinge style you have now will be of no consequence.
