It does raise an interesting question, which of the four blowers is the rarest?
Judson
M.A.G
Pepco
Shorrack

(Are there others)

Yeah, I just noticed that.
If someone is going to put somthing on ebay without a buy-it-now price, they should let the auction run its course without selling it prior to the end of the auction. That pisses me off.

I've owned a few MAG superchargers... have one going on a 36hp okrasa setup. In total, I think I can count about 10 that I've seen, maybe upwards of 20 if I think about ones I've seen in magazines. The one on ebay recently was a nice complete set. I was pondering whether to stay up until 2 in the morning to try and snipe it. I too wish people would let auctions run their course if they didnt put it up for buy it now. Oh well, I really didnt need another!

Shorrock are on about the same count. I've only owned two of these as they are a bit more expensive. (oh yes, one is currently for sale!)

Pepcos are fairly common. I think I've owned about 15 of them now, both with the flat front for a VW and with the 6" drive snout for a crosley motor. They are good little units. If you want one, just be patient. My last spare unit was just sold.

... and I've NEVER owned a judson! go figure.

As per the most rare, try finding an Arnott.

I remember seeing that.

Pepco was bought by Crofton sometime in 60 or 61...

So, money not withstanding, if you were going to build a dream car which would you go for, Judson, MAG, Shorrock, or Pepco?

I'm building my mag supercharged 36hp okrasa motor for my low light vert, the double cab will have a vintage 2l motor with twin pepco superchargers and the shorrock is being saved for a 40hp project to someday go into a 61 flipseat westy (still need to find the bus).

I think the shorrock is the nicest of all the units but appreciate the roots type blower designs of the mag and pepco.

So how's that for not answering your Q? Very Happy

I own a number of VW Superchargers, but I think the Shorrock is the best engineered of them all.
Here is a pic of my Shorrock for my Empi GTV.

A Judson Pepco Shocked

John,
My guess is either by chance a previous owner was named Judson and put his name on it for some reason, or it was rebuilt by a company by the name of Judson and stamped to mark his work.
Just a coincidence.
