|
|
I have these rear fender trims that I am told came off a car from Sweden and I would like to know if anyone knows anything about them or seen a set before. They are cast aluminium and about 5-6mm thick.
I was going to sell them but now I am thinking about keeping them.
Any info. would be great like age make etc. and if they came with fronts like the Rhobri's do

I think they are from about 1952-53, as the earlier for splits where slightly taller. And there came stainless in 1954.
They did not come with a front pair and they where probably fitted by the firm that sold the car when it was new. |

i think I have seen these on swedish imports to the uk before. Try finding Ian Clarkes split race car, I think he still runs them on there on the drag strip! If you want to sell them, pm me with a possible price?
heres that car:-

Thanks Si
Yep they are definatly taller on that split.
I would put them on my bug but I would have the problem of the hole in the wing that the robri's would leave. I need to find the earlier taller ones now.
I will keep these for now though. |

lol, thats the problem with those fender guards!
You should get some polish on them - jewellers rouge - and see how clean you can get them!

No, I have not seen them before. Only the earlier and the later ones.
But that is not so strange, often these accessories where pretty local and where fitted by only a handful of vendors. Many extras here are just that local and seldom seen in rest of the country. |
