I just used 4 Corners to have an inop bus shipped from the North to the South. Highly recommended. Great experience. |

I see lots of discussion about experiences in USA but see nothing about shipping within Canada. I am considering purchasing a Beetle convertible in British Columbia but would need it shipped to Ontario. I have used uShip before to gather pricing information but I find them to be rather pricey. Does anyone have any suggestions about what the least expensive way to ship long distance within Canada might be?
Any assistance would be appreciated. |
If you are finding Uship prices too high I wish you lots of luck.... I will say that Uship takes a big percentage from the service provider (17 percent) but most of the time providers are just looking to fill a spot so cheaper than retail. |
Gotta agree with this- I've used uship a couple times and if you ignore the first several quotes you receive and wait a few days, a good quote usually comes across your desk.
of course, both times the person doing the hauling for me actually gave me a ride to the destination as well, so i was with the car the whole time. _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

I just used 4 corners to ship my 63 bug from AZ to FL based on the recent reviews I found on the forum. They were great to work with and responded quickly to my questions. Their pricing was reasonable as I went with a covered transport. The bug was picked up last Friday and it was delivered on Sunday... I was not expecting it to arrive until Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. I am happy with their service and would recommend them to others. |
This is great to hear. I've read through this post and many have used, with great success 4 corners. I purchased a '71 square last week while I was in AZ on vacation and I need to get it back here to FL. So reading your post was good to see going & coming from the same place. I'll jump on their website now and see what they have to offer. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

I was going to suggest you give them a try in your car thread. You won't be disappointed, I don't believe. Getting ready to do a shipment from Oregon to NYC soon myself with them. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I went with them. I was impressed with how quick they replied to my "free quote" within 5min of sending it in. From there the attention Jeff has been paying with getting everything together and communication has been second to non. they are picking up the car today. I'm pretty excited now. _________________ 1971 Squareback, fully bagged, 1776.

I am mulling purchasing a Eurovan hightop now in Europe and having Busman drop it off for shippingback to Canada.
I am getting a quote for Roll On Roll Off shipping of $3450 USD which struck me as expensive, but this is from a shipping company I have used for containers (not related to vehicles) several times over the past decade.
TERMS:
LINER IN UPTO FOT DOOR MONTREAL CITY LIMITS
RATE INCL OCFR/CAF/BAF/PSC/SRC/ VATOS
RATE INCL HANDLING/ WHARFAGE POD AND TRUCKING CANADA
RATE EXCL HANDLING POL EUR 50 BASIS + CUSTOMS EUR 65 + BL FEE EUR 45
has anyone shipped back from Europe to the US or Canada recently or does anyone have an idea of what the going rate is these days?

So what does anyone think of the following shipping arrangement:
Put in a request with shipper on 11/29 and pay on 11/30 to have a bus shipped from OR to NYC. Minimal contact from shipper but am told that it's winter and things are slow. We're two days shy of two weeks since submitting the request and the bus is still sitting at the origin. No carrier assigned, money spent.
Weather looks decent all across the country through multiple routes. What gives? In the past, this broker (4 Seasons) has assigned a carrier within 3 days and pickup is fast.
The first day of winter in our hemisphere is in 10 days. While I know that weather varies significantly in spite of season, things haven't gotten crazy yet. Any advice or input? |

The joy of using a broker sorry.....
This is a bad time of year due to the holidays and the threat of weather will affect where and who is hauling right now. As a hauler my load I am working on right now I started booking a month ago. |

Avoid using BAJ Auto Transport out of Kentucky, they get listed with U-Ship. U-Ship is not the broker on this deal.
The broker that is shipping a vehicle I sold to The Netherlands contracted with BAJ to pick it up and deliver to Houston, TX. Well driver showed up this morning, questioned the extra parts that were sold with the vehicle, called his office and back out of hauling it. I personally think he did not want to transport an older vehicle, he said the extra parts would cause him to be over weight, his trailer was empty when it arrived here.
None the less the vehicle is still here and he is down the road, now have to wait for the broker to find another transport. According to him that is the first time he has had a transporter refuse a shipment due to spare parts.
Long story short - avoid BAJ Auto Transport or have a back up transport standing by. |

Just a few days short of 5 weeks since the shipping order was placed and payment made. Vehicle still hasn’t been picked up! Holidays were only in the last week along with Artic temps. At this rate, we’ll probably be waiting for a spring pickup |

Yes, that very same 4 Corners. I’ve had good experiences with them in the past but this one is just crazy. |

Yeah, this is just weird. I'll be on the phone Tuesday. Imma have to start charging storage on dis bitch!!
Course NOW it'll be the damn weather. 99% of what I've shipped has been in the spring, summer, and fall. Jeff and Ellen both have told me that winters are dead for car shipping comparatively speaking and that's precisely why I rushed to get the order in weeks ago.
Happy New Year. Why aren't you guys out freezing your privates off? No transportation? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

What exactly do you mean by “ payment made “ ?
Payment for what ?

Just caught this reply 5 days later......Payment was made to the broker, 4 Corners, for the cost of transporting a bus from OR to NY. I'm not paying the shipping, but it's my bus. It's a long story.
We're now two days shy of 6 weeks and no pickup. The broker keeps claiming the job is at the top of the board, they've raised the amount they'll pay a driver for the job, and whatnot else but no dice. Yes, there's been arctic weather recently, but not for the whole of the last 6 weeks!! |
