I am doing a resto on a 66 standard walk through and thought it would look cool to install a pre 67 euro blade bug bumper on the front. I would fill the bumper mount holes below the doors. It looks like the contour of the bumper and front of the bus is about the same. The bus has dropped spindles and by mounting the bug blade a little low with custom brackets I think it looks really good. Any one ever done this? Got any pics?

I must have missed something. I heard they did a bus on pimp my ride or one of those other shows, but I did not see it. Did they use a bug bumper? If so, anyone know where to find pics?

i'm gonna be blunt,

it's going to look like shit!

If you want somthing other than stock, try Briz alumn bumpers. (they still look like shit but better than bug bumpers)

or just run T bars.

gimp my ride is played out.

Ya... in those pics the nose is wasted and the lower nose is all beat up. I didn't take a pic of it on the bus on the gound with it on. Looks alot better. That was on a slammed bus... stock height I don't think it would look good at all. The contour is real close... but I would prolly cut up another bumper and extend the sides to go back farther like an original bumper.

What exactly dont you like about it Woody?

Exactly. It is too narrow and does not cover the lip of the lower valance.
It is the wrong shape on the ends and too short.

It is too small for the mass of the vehicle.
