Yarkle - lots of those old carbs aren't original to that specific bus - they could come with an engine or carb swap, and those that are original usually have worn out parts. Unless you have lots of time and carb sets on your hands to choose the best parts - those are going to be a challenge. Consider using Tim. That said you may want to consider plating some of the corroded parts and I don't know if Tim will do that. I also don't know how he feels about dual solexs. I love to work on carbs and am really good at it - those will be a labor of love to clean and go thru. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Busdaddy: thats what im going to end up doing, just send him the best two sets I have and have him figure out which ones are worth redoing.
SGKent: Absolutely, I was just trying to figure out what to send him.
Colin: I checked and a few of the arms are ovalled!
Robbie : Thanks!
Everyone: Regardless, the two holes on the throttle plate have to match, correct? otherwise they wont idle in sync?
So i need to make sure he gets a set that have matching holes (like all but one or 2 of the 73s have the same size hole--both 72 and 73..maybe i have an auto trans one? that had a smaller hole?)
and ill just have to figure something out with the return spring. I had really hoped i could just swap the arms. Maybe i can mock something up on the engine with my cruddy carbs while Tim is redoing another set _________________ Tilda the Mustard Tigress 1973 Squareback (o'''^'''o)
