Great pics! My next trip in the Westy isn't until August, so I'll have to hang on to this thread and post them then.
Cheers!

I noticed posters with small kids...
My wife and 10 month old are looking to start camping again and I was wondering if you could share how/where the littlest ones sleep?
Thanks! |

My wife and sleep up stairs in the pop-up, and we put booger (1 year old) in the area behind the rear seat. With the curtains pulled shut and her blankets from her crib, and the white stuffed bear, she is right at home and sleeps the whole night through. She can't get out of there (back of seat is too high) so she is very safe. Nothing to bang her head on back there or to get caught up in. We put all of her toys in the lower cubby to the rear of the fridge. I just bought a picnic blanket that has fleece on one side and vinyl on the other(www.sierratradingpost.com), so this will double as a seat protector (flying eggs, jam, etc.) and she can play on the ground outside and not get filthy since there is not much grass in in CO, usually just hard pan or rocky ground. Car seat fits fine, but I take it out of the van at the camping spot to give more room in there. She loves the camper van, and one day after a long hike she got all excited when the Westy came into view at the trail head. |

Good timing on the thread. I just returned from a pic nic at Fort Loudon Dam in Lenoir City, TN. If you are going north/south on I-75 its a good spot for a meal break. Too bad the gate is up, cant see my FMBC sticker.

In Southern Utah last week, waiting for dark:
This is where we parked south of Moab in the BLM land:
And if you turned around, this was the view:
Fun times, but interesting how every 4 corners podunk town in Utah now has an espresso bar! _________________ Geology with a Syncro rocks!

Wow, Dogpilot. That is some beutifull country there my freind. It has been to long since I have traveled out west, wife and kids keep the ramblin' man grounded.
BTW-Rodknock, my pics are from an area of North Florida near town of Highsprings, the aquafer can sometimes be just a few dozen feet below and pops up to the surface all along the banks of the Santa Fe river feeding her back to Ma' ocean on the west Florida coast. This park is about a half hour from Gainesville where we live. I like it.

Been all through that area, used to do the river by canoe with the scouts every spring, left Florida a few years back. Here is a pic of one of my research aircraft at Everglades City. We were doing water contamination mapping by air. The instrument on the belly gives us dissolved solid percentages in the water, and there is three in the cabin looking through holes to tel us what they are. We did the survey for South Florida Water Management.
I do miss the diving.
Cheers,

Is that a Kelty Carport I see on the Vangaon? If so, which model is it? Is it a worthwhile purchase?
I don't have any kind of awning and I am shopping extra hard but researching before I lay out the big bucks.

Fyrgrrl-
Take a look at the Kelty Carport Deluxe. It's a new release, and has just a couple more features that are pretty cool. I have the Carport L, and totally dig it.

I remember canoing down the Rifle river, brings back lots of memories. One in particular where I hid high on the banks overlooking the river and shot bottle rockets at canoes going by. The things you do when you are young and reckless. |
