Anyone with an update on the availability of a repro horn mechanism for the '58/'59 Steering Wheel.

Mine works on a door bell push under the dash. The John Copello link: www.copellos.biz no longer works.

Any leads would be appreciated. BTW my Ghia is Sept '58 and I have a metal horn button.

The changeover from the metal to the plastic horn button trim, not to mention a slightly different chrome ring to fit said plastic (push-on) trim and different emblem (plastic construction instead of cloisonne' on chrome) occurred in early July of 1958, FYI...

my september 58 coupe has a plastic horn button.

Wiggy, see the black part to the right? that might be the piece you are missing if your steering wheel woobles.

John Copello should have new horn kits in stock any week now. At the last Sacto bug o rama I gave him one of his old kits to use as a template (he didn't have any more kits to work from). As was posted earlier he used original parts from my 59 Ghia to make the kit. I believe the parts work for both 58 and 59 Ghias since the base of the horn ring did not change, only the attaching points for the different horn ring covers. I prefer the metal cover horn rings myself. The cover and Wolfsburg crest are nice and crisp and even though they are incorrect for my 59 Ghia I put them on any way : )
