I was kind of surprised no one posted any pictures of this car. This "52 vert is owned by Dr. Mac Jones and was restored by Bob Koch and crew. Car has a Dave Lumetta interior in leather and was done first class all the way. Thought some of you who did not get a chance to go to the Classic this year would like to see this one. The last pic is Bob and teresa Koch with the car.

Damn, Never seen that car before. I've been going over the Classic pics and haven't seen any pics of beetles. Mostly busses. Thanks for the pics. I think I'm going to go next year.

I saw it at the show, very nice car for sure.

Anyone know what color that is, looks like dove blue? Don't think I have ever seen that color on a split vert, didn’t look like an original vert color to me but I am not sure what was available that year.

The oval rear window was a little weak. I know the split vert ones are hard to find, but I don’t think I would have put it together with an oval vert window.

Azure Blue?

I saw that car two years ago. That think was a MESS! Its incredible the work they did to get it in the shape. It was in inches of mud for years.

YA THAT VERT WAS VERY NICE THE INTERIOR WAS EXCELLENT ALSO

YOU WOULD NEVER BEEN ABLE TO TELL IT WAS SITTING IN INCHES OF MUD THATS CRAZY

THERE WERE ALOT OF OVAL ERA VERTS THERE I THINK I COUNTED
7 OR 8 BUT THE SPLIT WAS THE COOLEST

I'D LIKE TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE BEFORE ITS RESTORATION

As far as I know Azure blue is not a split convertible color. All you need is shit loads of money to make a piece of crap look sweet. It is a nice looking car.

It looked like a car that had sat in two inchs of mud in Texas I believe, Bob and his crew put a ton of work into it for Dr. Jones, congrats to them all.

Your wrong Dave...........It takes incredible talent. If you gave me the same amount of money.........I'd hate to see what you would get. Wink
Bob really does great work; whether it's a steering wheel or a whole car.

I thought the car was a '51, not a '52. Also, the car is up 4-sale. Takashi Kamori (owner of Flat-4) is considering making the purchase for an astounding $125k!
The car was a mess when found in the field. Dr Jones purchased it sight unseen and sent it directly to Kochs. Mac had been collecting parts for years & 80% of the parts are, or were, NOS. The entire turn key engine was also NOS, complete with Gold cosmoline coating. One of the incorrect pieces is the 1953-55 fuel, but it was NOS as well.

That vert came from a yard in Oklahoma. Same yard I pulled a 56 vert out of as well as my brothers 59 euro vert.
Jerry Parrot traded the old man Carl a Cadillac slant back seville for it and never gave the old man a title. James king ended up getting it after that it went to Koch.
I had the opportunity to buy it for $10k as a basket case back in 2001 but I ended up finishing the Penty instead.
You should see the yard that thing came out of. I counted and have over 26 ovals on film, including busses. An OG paint 56 23 window came out of there too. That place was the shit until the old mans son took it over and got raided for cooking meth now that place is totally shut down. Theres a clean 58 2 door Impala in there that I want bad.
