Hi all, does anyone here would know where I could find the two rear main frame rail section for a 1966 bus? I looked on the internet and I’m able to find the two front main rail section on some websites but no sight about the two rear. Normally I’d look on the market for a good used but I’m in Canada and as you surely know the borders are closed. Here’s a picture of the bus, it’s an OG 21 windows bus so it worth the save. Thanks for your help

I dont have a source but have been watching this build recently and covers exactly what your issue is. Marci is quite a talented lady worth a look...

I have an extra pair of “raw” rails that will need to be modified or I can do it for an extra cost.
See here...

I just saw the “closed borders” thing. A metal fabricator bent up the ones that I have using a section that I cut out as a template. These are pressed out of 12ga sheet in a pretty simple 2”x4” “C” channel with another 90° Bend roughly 1/2” From the edge for the lower stiffener.
The only real modification was cutting a slit in the rail, bending the top edge up roughly 15° & adding a filler.

If there's a BBT reseller in Canada, try contacting them. They started making chassis earlier this year. _________________ Andy

Great resources here, thanks all! I crawled under my bus the other day and was thinking about this very thing too! |
