A first draft. Keep in mind, I'm making this with a vinyl die cutter in mind, not for a website logo. Please forgive the crudity of this model:

1600 means very little to a VW class, whereas Type 3 differentiates us from the other VW's. I want a Type 3 sticker/Club similar to the below badges!

I can do that for you, Mike. If anyone has a high-res straight on shot of a Type 3 badge, I can make a vectored drawing in Illustrator. That way, any vinyl shop can produce one in any size anywhere.
Or, if anyone has a set of type 3 badges for sale, I can buy them and scan what I need and go from there. _________________ ~Craig

I like the idea of a Type 3 sticker rather than a "1600," as every type was equipped with a 1600 motor at one time or another, not just type 3s.
Here's a photo of an Aussie Type 3 badge:
I played around trying to use the type 3 graphic with the round VW logo behind it (screened at 50%, 75%, etc. to give the illusion of being in the background), but my graphic artist skills suck.
Maybe one of you guys can run with the idea. _________________ Robert Bills

True, and overall I agree. But...
Buses had the 1500 in '63, but that didn't stop the Type 3 from still being called the VW 1500. Same for the Bugs in '67.
Type 3 got the 1600 in '66. Buses got the 1600 in '68, Bugs in '70. Again, VW still badged it the VW 1600 (outside the US, that is).
Then there is all that Variant/Valiant/Station Wagon mess!
When people ask what VW I own, and I say "Type 3," they look at me funny. If I say, "VW 1600 TLE" they look at me like I'm from another planet.
When I say "fastback," they THINK they know, but really they thought I said "squareback" and they tell me they had a friend with one that "held a lot of stuff but overheated a lot."
So it's hopeless for the unwashed public.
But for we aficionados, "TYPE 3" will have to do... |

Dont forget that a Vanagon is a Type 3. |
The Bus guys are just trying to ascend to our level of coolness, not realizing that Bus and Beetle guys will always just be posers.
Not only did the Type 3 have the first 1600, Type 3 had the first dual port and the first EFI, not to mention the first disc brakes and the first Automatic. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
