Looks like I'll be doing a head gasket repair due to exhaust gasses pressurizing the coolant system. It looks like the head gasket kits from the online vendors repair one side. So if I need to repair both heads, wouldn't it make more sense to order the complete engine gasket set for less than half the price to two head kits? Or am I missing something. 83.5 1.9L westy.

Absolutely, and then you have spare gaskets for all the other things. The individual head kits are just silly.
