Has anyone here performed the TDI engine conversion in a vanagon? I'm curious. What kind of performance do you get? I love the idea of great milage and possible biofuel conversion but I'd also like to be able to move into the passing lane on the highway at 80 mph when needed. Can both be possible? |

Hi I have a 2003 TDi in my 85 Double Cab. The power is fun and addicting, you have the power to pull out any where and be as fast as any one. The look on peoples faces when you pass them while going up hills never gets old.
The engine in my truck has small mods but nothing crazy. I dyno'd it at 145HP and 285ft/lbs at the wheels. This truck is so fun to drive, and cheep to, easy to make 40 miles/Gallon at highway speed. Thats when you can keep your foot out of it. |

Cool. That's the kind of review I've been seeing elsewhere on the web. I'm really excited about trying this. I am a bit hesitant because I've read that it is a complicated process. I'd also be starting from scratch. I'll be checking in here often, making notes until I finally start to aquire the pieces. Thanks! |
