Ok electric people,

I have a Panasonic iPod adaptor that I want to hook up to my existing radio (there is an adaptor plugin in the back of the radio).

My question is, how do I plug the iPod adaptor into a power source?

There is a yellow and a black wire. I know the yellow goes to power and the black goes to ground. But do I need to splice those wires from the adaptor into the existing black/yellow wires that run from the radio or do I shoot those wires into the vacant ports in the existing wiring harness?

Thanks from the electrical challenged people!
Kevin

This. I don't need to wire my MP3 CD player. I just use the rig I talk about here:

Best!

Kevin,

The yellow should be spliced into a switched power, ie. one that comes on with the ignition. If you want it hot all the time, splice it to the wire to the lighter. THe black should go to ground, you can be lazy and splice it with one of the many brown ground lines.

You can run the iPod connector out the dash under the cluster and the top will still snap down. The ash tray is perfectly sized for an iPod:

I spliced mine into the interior light right above the glove compartment. And it works fine. But mine is a modulator not a regulator or a interface. It only requires a 12V source.
