I couldn't figure out why you wanted steering box scrap (junk yard scrap). There were so many pages on this thread. I read the first one. How wrong I was. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]

FB has taken over. We tried hard to keep the forum up, but you can't compete. _________________ Anthony

The SBS has been around for more than 10 years now. With Facebook taking over the internet. Except here of course, we've opened a public page for all you scrapers.

Well, the LHD beetle rack is a no go.
Has anyone used golf mk1 racks?
That's another option for me. |

Interesting question. Have you seen the Red 9 set-up? Find it and see what you can adapt to your bus. |
I have seen the red9 design one, but they're using A wishbone, and someone told me he has a LHD super beetle steering rack, and someone has the volvo 240 rack for me.
I don't have access to a vanagon rack though, that's why I didn't ask about that. |

Searching through topics, this was probably the best in which I could post this question.
I am driving a RHD bus, and searching for a viable solution to swap to R&P from the stock RHD steering box.
I've already managed to get the vanagon bevel box and an early bay steering column that I can use for this swap.
Can I use a LHD 1303 steering rack in such a swap?
I'm searching for a suitable steering rack to use.
I've a volvo 240 manual rack available to me, but the tie rod ends are on the end of the rack and not centered. Would there be a problem with bump steering on such a rack setup? |
