My wife's Westy doesn't have the VW emblem on the front. It never has had it which I know doesn't mean squat but there's no holes and none inside filled with bondo or welds. Were any Westys or any buses delivered or orderable without the front VW emblem?

M100 - Without front VW emblem

Do you have that M-code?

I thought this was more of a thing they used for vehicles that were intended for commercial usage where they would put a logo up front. For instance panels or kombis delivered in Primer to businesses.

Could it be a repop nose clip replaced before you got it?

Thanks, all. When she gets home from work I'll look at the m-code. Were the replacement nose pieces without holes, too?

Looked up all her m-code package and there's no m-100 but everything else is spot on. There's evedence of nose repair but darnded if it's not near perfect.

Any answers on the replacement skins' holes?

Short of just measuring accurately, is there anyway of drilling the holes, meaning a downloadable template the lays up against the windshield ledge or something?

Barry, couldn't you just measure the top hole on your standard from the hole to the frame and then line you emblem up and mark the other three holes?

You mean on the inside for the first hole? Yeah I'll definitly use one of my uncrunched original busses for the measure. I don't remember, can you get to all the studs easily to put on the nuts or speed clips? She bought an original emblem not a repop.

I was thinking you had a bus with the emblem off. And i just put one on my double cab the other day or I could have measured for you. If you really want to get it spot on I would remove the emblem off of one of your busses and measure the top hole from outside. The top one is a pain to get to without removing the dash tray, but the other three are easy to get to once you remove the kick panels, assuming you have them.

Sorry for the thread dig.
I have no reference and would like to know exactly were to place my emblem.
Did you ever get that measurement?

Wow! Nice work.
I've done a lot of poking around... never found those numbers.
Thanks for the detailed response, royDHPNM. That was extremely helpful and why I love this site.
I'll be installing my emblem in the morning. Very Happy

This thread should be a sticky!
