A useful tool when checking pre 1950's literature, is a UV light. Most pre 1950's paper did not use the same chemicals and bleaches that are used after 1950.
Here is an example of 2 BMW brochures I have. One is an original, and the other is a reprint. The reprint lights up like a christmas tree under a UV light.

This book from the early 1960s contains paint, upholstery, and various fabric samples for all of the color combinations available at time of publication (in this case, 1961).

This large notebook contains print advertising mockups (I think that is the proper term) - also from the early 1960s.

The name of the dealership would be inserted into the ad at time of publication.

And here is the "Tourist Delivery Manual", complete with customer order forms and sales literature, from the late 60s/early 70s.

I got these pictures recently. They are 23x17cm and each has a descripton of the history of picture on the back side on a separate sheet. Paper looks and smells old and the text appears to be typed.

Any information on when and for what purpose they were made would be appreciated.

VW bus Testimonial loose leaf binder for commercial type 2s. Most of the testimonial letters are from 1957-1958. Some cool black and white logo bus pictures accompany each testimonial letter. Total of 8 with some cover sheets. Look in Literature gallery section for more.

Came across this book a while back in a second hand parts place. Got some great pics, not to sure about the text as its in German.
Thought I'd pick out a few pics for you. Sorry about quality, taken with a crappy camera.

Here is the original tourist delivery costing sheet that came with my 1969 hardtop westy. There were a few other bits of original paperwork as well. It all went with the bus when I sold it last year.
