here is some eye candy for y'all:
http://westfaliaregistry.com/literature/accessories/

this is the dealer's accessory catalog that the parts department would use to order stuff for the dealership. I scanned the entire book. special thanks to my friend Sean McConnachie who lent me the book to scan. I have a similar book, but mine only has the German produced accessories section. this book also has the "domestic line" (i.e. american produced accessories)

sample of the good stuff:

Probably more unusual than rare, but dealer service items.

This is a book that a good friend gave me. I don't know how unusual it is, but it's holds a wealth of information. It's roughly 3x5 inches and is designed to be carried in the technician's pocket. It says inside, "This booklet contains measurements, clearances and other important details for the complete range of VW products from the introduction of the 30 bhp engine in December 1953. It should be carried by every VW specialist and not just put into a drawer somewhere."

Sorry for the crappy photos. Crappy camera. Should anyone happen to want better pics, I can borrow my daughter's camera.

Folks,

Here is a site dedicated to VW Bus ads...

Find your bus

If you find bus ads that are not in this Database, please PM me a link...

So is this a repost? I'm confused.

My original August 1963 1200 owner's manual contains 88 pages and the color fold-out diagram at the back. I recently saw an August 1964 1200 manual that looks the same with the fold-out diagram but has only 80 pages. It did not appear any pages were missing and I was unable to compare the manuals side by side. Anyone know what changes may have been made to the August '64 book?

Nice site Sage.
This is one that both you and Everett need. The only color ad with
a pressed bumper deluxe that I have found so far. I don't remember
what magazine I got it out of though...

I remember the ship well...a familiar sight in these parts until the mid '60s.

Where is it now...doesn't look as if it's fared as well as The Queen Mary. Crying or Very sad
