Hell, my home has LEAD pipe coming from the street.I kid you not. Top THAT you plastic people! |
But how does it taste! :-/
We have a well and live at 6,200' so our water is quite clean, I can always taste "funk" in water just about anywhere else I drink water. If my water tank was so bad inside that it posed any threat to my health I would be able to taste it. _________________

I'm a big fan of FILTRATION SYSTEMS......THE GOOD KIND....Not the Brita crap..... |
What's the "GOOD" kind? |
These work very well, and they fit nicely under the sink...
They even filter out the taste of bleach. _________________ Cliff

In the mornings, run water thru the pipes before filling a glass or drinking.
Once you get the water out that sat in the pipes overnight, you will drastically reduce your exposure to any leachate.
Never fill a pot from with hot water from a tank - the water sat there heating up and being exposed to lead or whatever.
All city water systems must test their water and provide customers with the tests every year.
That will not include your house pipes, but it is useful info. |

oh yeh - you cannot filter out many chemicals -- only if they are attached to particles large enough to be trapped by the filter media. |

The chemicals aren't trapped by the filter media - they are adsorbed onto the surface of the activated charcoal. _________________ Cliff
