What are some VWs you love but reallistically you probably can't own one (at least for a long long time)?
Schwimwagen and the Type 60.
Type 60:

Well, I would really like to have a vw puma but they are all either too far away or too much $$ _________________ Life is a web woven by necessity and chance.

I think a schwimwagen would be really cool.
Also, while technically not a VW, I also like the Porsche Spider 356. Sounds like a bug, but performs better. Very minimalist and classy.
A guy at work has his for sale, beautifully restored -- and believe me, I am thinking hard about it. |

It would be really nice to find a Schwimwagen with origional bullets holes in the body from WW2 still (or ancient caked on mud from the war would be fine too).

Well, I know someone that is thinking of selling his 356. I think it is a 56. It is in CT. |

I want an Aussie panel with the vents above the beltline, but my wallet won't let me do it any time soon. _________________ 9th Owner of a 1971 Tintop Westy

Geeze. You should have spoke up before I sold mine to Tram. Who knows what's in store for it now. _________________

I've seen those 4-sale on this site & in local VW shows. $5-$8k doesn't sound like too much $$$ to fulfill your dream. _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

You mean a Porsche 550 Spyder. A fellow employee has one 4-sale and you're pondering making the purchase? What's he asking? Those cars are fetching over a million easily. _________________ 1947 Typ 11a

If I am dreaming, I would like to have a Fridolin. But, since I am without an aircooled car and my wife says, "you can not buy another," I guess any type1 would do as long as I can aquire it without "buying" it.
Anyone in TX, OK, AR or N. LA want to trade a type1 for a newly rebuilt type3 longblock? _________________ James |

You have it backwards. If you try real hard you can get a VW to sound a bit like a 356.
(why oh why did I sell my '53 Cabriolet?) |
