This ones for you Glen. Very Happy

Whats the advance on a bosch 010 dude?

Just looking at some information I was sent regarding my Treuhaft 010.

It reads:

"treuhaft 010 was developed as a replacement for the bosch 010. The performance is equivalent to the Bosch with the exception of the dwell angle, which was improved to extend the life of the coil.

point adjustment 0.14 inch
total advance of 22 degrees, in at 2800 rpm

hope this helps (straight from catalog)"

22 degrees of advance at 2800 rpms - does that sound right?
I wonder if I screwed up my last engine by having the timing way to advanced ( I think I had it advanced to 32 at 2800!!! - this information wasn't available at the time.)

Even though the advance is all in @ 2500-2800rpm. You can still time it like an 009 (28-32 BTDC @ 3000rpm)...

Glen, John Krusher - thanks for the info and your help (as usual)

Just to confirm (So I know for future reference):

The advance is 22 degrees. This means if its static timed at 10 degrees advanced, the total advance would be 32.

Also - I'm ok to advance it 32 degrees (at full advance) like a 009 at 2800+ rpm.

If this is ok, then i hadn't over advanced it previously.. phew.

At Wide open throttle the max advance is usually in the range of 28-32 degrees, if you can run the 32 and get no pre igniction then your Ok. Very Happy
