Hey guys , new member here .. owned 67 prior and recently sold it . Picked up this 74 recently and so far a lot of fun driving it around town ... I bought it the way it currently sits I added the roof rack , added some lap belts in the front and will be doing pop rears hopefully fingers crossed. The pipes are pretty loud sounds almost like a boat it’s nice but I’d prefer something just a little less noisy. 1641 CC , upgraded cam ... I’m trying to do some lap belts for the rear seat but I cannot find the damn holes anywhere so if someone can point me in the right direction I’d appreciate it ... also please any feedback you have or things you see I’d love to hear em ! Thanks a lot look forward to being a contributing member ..

shouldn't a '74 have three point belts up front? _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Sure looks like a Mexican Beetle to me, and would be really surprised if it didn't have 3 point belts front and rear. _________________ Always chasing Squirrel's. |

Hi thanks for the reply , Ya most definitely it did , non retractables up front. I swapped em cause they looked a bit ratty from the last guy. The lap belts actually look a lot better imo |

The previous owner put a brand new headliner where the overhead bolts would go which probably covered it up. I was thinking of using the bolt that hooks the rear seat in along with a bolt on the floor but not that holes you see in your pic. I removed insulation and do not see the floor holes. But there are some bolts i was considering using just below the ones in your photo. |

if three point fixings exist in the front then I advise you to fit 3 point belts. the lap belts might look cool and will keep you in your seat but wont stop you cracking the screen with your skull or bending the wheel with your ribs! you also need to use proper and adequate fixing points in the rear. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut
