Also the front and rear fenders. The rears are wider the front seats have a differant latch system, also the deck lid and rear apron. I even think the sun visors are one year only and the Z bar.

This thread must become a "favorite" as there is much valuable information. Thank you to all that have contributed. I am heading to a VW wrecking yard here in Montana next weekend and maybe I can pick up some 67 goodies Pray .

im pretty sure they did some late year 66's in 12 volt cause i have a 66 and it wasn't converted (i think)

Nope. All 66 models were 6 volt. Unless it was special ordered.

I used to think this too.

Porduction on the 67 model began in Aug 66. Thats when 12 volt began.

So some 67 models were made in 66, and they were 12 volt

But they weren't 66 models.

IIRC, 67 was also the only year for Z-Bars.

I usually search first but I got lazy. I did find out what they are and I still have them on my car. Woo Hoo, one less piece to buy.

Here is some more 67only stuff. Deck Lid Latch Plastic piece. The plastic piece on deck lid latch that goes on hook to keep dirt out of lock? Only used on 67. The rubber cap on the rear apron under the latch is 67 only. There 3 distinct different inside door lock knobs for 67.

What about the Hazard switch. Hood handle, stainless covered, not a Chromed cast piece.

Yes, it is going to suck. I will be a fun, frustrating, learning journey though.

BOTH! lol
Don't get the '67 only bracket confused with a later one that has a crescent notch in it...

They are both real hard to find. However, between the two finding
SB-12's that are in great shape are harder to find.
